In a bizarre incident, a North Carolina mom and foster parent landed in the hospital after accidentally using nail glue instead of eye drops. The incident, which occurred in Concord, North Carolina, in December, quickly went viral after her daughter, Ria Faggart, shared the story on TikTok and a GoFundMe page.
The viral video shows the unnamed mother in a hospital bed with her eyes sealed shut. Faggart explained that it will take 5-7 weeks for her mother's eyes to reopen naturally, at which point doctors can assess the extent of any damage. The incident has put a strain on the family, as the mother is unable to work and lacks disability insurance.

This unfortunate event isn't isolated. Just a couple of months earlier, in October, Brianne Shipley experienced a similar mishap. The Florida resident mistakenly grabbed her nail glue instead of eye medication while treating a bacterial infection, resulting in a painful and frightening experience.

Shipley recounted her ordeal to PEOPLE magazine, describing the moment she realized her mistake. She explained how she reached for the bottle without looking, only to recognize the wrong consistency as the drop fell into her eye. The incident serves as a reminder to be cautious when handling similar products, especially in dimly lit or rushed situations.
