Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently expressed her support for President Biden's performance while also pointing out areas where she believes he could have done better. In an appearance on the "Pod Save America" podcast, Ocasio-Cortez acknowledged the constraints faced by the administration, praising Biden's efforts on initiatives like the American Rescue Plan and the Inflation Reduction Act, particularly highlighting the latter's significance for climate action.
However, the congresswoman also voiced concerns regarding the Democratic Party's approach to immigration, suggesting a lack of ownership and decisiveness on the issue. She specifically mentioned the challenges faced by asylum seekers and the resistance to granting them work authorization while their legal processes are underway.

Ocasio-Cortez's support for Biden has been lukewarm since his 2020 election, having initially backed Bernie Sanders in the Democratic primaries. She had previously refrained from explicitly endorsing Biden for the 2024 election. However, when asked about her support given the current field of potential primary challengers, which includes Marianne Williamson and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., she confirmed she would be backing the president.
