Berlusconi Back in Hospital for Leukemia-Related Checks

Silvio Berlusconi, the former Italian Prime Minister, has returned to San Raffaele Hospital in Milan for scheduled medical examinations related to his ongoing treatment for chronic leukemia. His physicians, Dr. Alberto Zangrillo and Dr. Fabio Ciceri, released a statement emphasizing that these tests, while rescheduled to an earlier date, are standard medical procedure and do not indicate any cause for immediate concern or a worsening of his condition.

This hospitalization comes just three weeks after Berlusconi's discharge from the same hospital, following a 45-day stay for treatment of a lung infection and chronic leukemia. The 86-year-old media tycoon and three-time former premier is expected to remain at San Raffaele for at least one night, according to reports from the Italian news agency La Presse.

While Berlusconi's Forza Italia party is a member of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni's right-wing coalition government, he currently does not hold a Cabinet position. However, he retains his seat in the Italian Senate.
