Shocking body camera footage reveals a daring daylight robbery in Memphis, Tennessee, where a group of masked thieves brandished assault rifles at a cash-in-transit guard while stealing a substantial amount of money from an ATM. The incident occurred at a First Horizon Bank on Mitchell Road around 8:20 a.m. on February 14th.
The video shows the guard opening the armored truck door, revealing open cash boxes at the base of the ATM. A white Nissan Altima pulls up, and three masked individuals armed with AR-style rifles quickly surround the guard. They shout commands like "Don't do it!" and "Don't move!" while their weapons click ominously.
With their weapons trained on the guard, the robbers swiftly extract three cash boxes from the ATM, jump into the waiting Nissan, and flee the scene. The exact amount stolen remains undisclosed, but authorities have confirmed it was substantial.
Police describe the suspects as Black males in their mid-20s. Detailed descriptions of their clothing have been released to aid in their identification. One wore a black hoodie, black pants, red gloves, and a black ski mask. Another sported a red and white "Coke" jacket, blue jeans, gray gloves, and a black ski mask. The third suspect's attire mirrored the first, with a black hoodie, black pants, red gloves, and a black ski mask.
The Memphis Police Department is actively investigating the robbery. This incident comes despite a reported decrease in overall crime in Memphis during the previous year, including significant drops in homicides and motor vehicle thefts.
