Following a thrilling overtime victory that secured the Washington Commanders' first playoff berth since 2020, safety Jeremy Reaves celebrated with a personal triumph, proposing to his longtime girlfriend, Mikaela Worley, on the field. She happily accepted.

The proposal took place after the Commanders' 30-24 win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday night, a game in which Reaves contributed two tackles. Reaves admitted the ring had been “burning a hole in his pocket” and he couldn’t imagine proposing after a potential loss. He had initially considered proposing the previous week but felt the playoff-clinching victory created the perfect moment.
Reaves shared that Worley had been an unwavering source of support, particularly during a challenging period last year. He described her as his best friend since high school, emphasizing her constant presence and encouragement.

Reaves' journey with Washington began in 2018 as an undrafted free agent. Through perseverance and hard work, he rose through the ranks, ultimately earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro honors in 2022 for his special teams contributions. After a 2023 season cut short by an ACL injury, Reaves has made a full recovery and played in every game this season.

Worley, a former volleyball player at Louisiana-Monroe, concluded her collegiate athletic career in 2018.
