A New Hampshire woman employed at a Massachusetts daycare faces charges of sexually exploiting children and distributing child pornography. Lindsay Groves, 38, is accused of taking nude photos of toddlers at Creative Minds daycare in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, and sending them to a former romantic partner. Federal investigators allege that Groves used routine diaper changes and bathroom breaks to capture the illicit images of children estimated to be between 3 and 5 years old.
A forensic examination of Groves’s phone reportedly uncovered over 2,500 text messages exchanged with the individual, including discussions about and the transmission of the explicit photos. While authorities haven't publicly named Groves's former partner, the Nashua Police Department has linked this investigation to the arrest of Stacie Laughton, a 39-year-old former New Hampshire state representative, on charges of distributing child sex abuse images.
Laughton, who identifies as transgender, was arrested following a report to Nashua Police concerning the distribution of sexually explicit images of children. This arrest follows a pattern of legal troubles for Laughton, including a prior conviction for stalking Groves and multiple convictions for making false 911 calls. Laughton, a Democrat, resigned from the New Hampshire House in December following these charges. Laughton's political career has been marked by controversy, having previously resigned from the state legislature in 2012 after past convictions for identity fraud and falsifying evidence came to light.
The Creative Minds daycare has reportedly closed and is cooperating with authorities. The investigation remains active.
