Surveillance footage captured a chilling incident in Detroit where a man ignited a gas station convenience store with the clerk trapped inside following a verbal altercation. The incident unfolded around 2:50 a.m. on June 20th. The video shows the suspect entering the store on West Seven Mile Road, armed with a blue blowtorch and proceeding to empty a trash bin onto the floor. After a brief exchange with the clerk, who is not visible in the frame, the suspect ignites the pile of trash with the blowtorch while partially standing in the doorway. The flames rapidly engulf the store, and the suspect flees. The clerk sustained first-degree burns and was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Detroit police have apprehended the suspect but have not yet released his identity.
