Eagles Coach Sirianni Hopes to Retain Kellen Moore Amidst Saints Rumors

Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni publicly expressed his strong desire for offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to remain with the team, despite widespread speculation linking Moore to the vacant head coaching position with the New Orleans Saints. This comes on the heels of the Eagles' dominant 40-22 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in Super Bowl LIX.

Moore, who previously served as offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys and Los Angeles Chargers, joined the Eagles' coaching staff this season and oversaw an offense that ranked seventh in points and eighth in total yards. His potential departure would be a significant loss for Philadelphia.

Sirianni's plea to Moore, captured by FOX's Tom Rinaldi amidst the Super Bowl celebrations, was a clear indication of how highly the Eagles value their offensive coordinator. While Moore has been a sought-after coaching candidate for several years, he has yet to secure a head coaching role. The Saints' opening presents a compelling opportunity for him to finally take the reins of an NFL team.

The Eagles' potent offense, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts and running back Saquon Barkley, played a crucial role in their Super Bowl triumph. Barkley's remarkable season nearly eclipsed Eric Dickerson's single-season rushing record, showcasing the effectiveness of Moore's offensive schemes.

Should Moore accept the Saints' offer, he would inherit a team that finished with a disappointing 5-12 record in 2024. He would also have the opportunity to work with veteran quarterback Derek Carr.
