Major General Kenneth Kamper, the commanding general at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, has been dismissed from his post due to alleged breaches of hunting regulations. The Army confirmed the removal, citing a loss of confidence in Kamper's leadership. While the specifics of the violations remain undisclosed, an investigation by the Army's inspector general is ongoing.

Kamper oversaw the Fires Center of Excellence at Fort Sill, responsible for training field artillery and air defense artillery personnel. He held this position since February 2020. He will remain in the Fort Sill vicinity pending reassignment, and the Army assures that base operations and missions will continue uninterrupted. Brigadier General Shane Morgan, the deputy commander, will serve as interim commander until a permanent replacement is appointed.
Fort Sill, home to 20,000 soldiers, has played a crucial role in training Ukrainian troops on the Patriot missile system since January.
