Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer announced the revival of his celebrity charity golf tournament at Trump National Doral in Florida, just days after its cancellation due to public backlash. Poyer shared the news on Fox News’ "America Reports," revealing that the event is now scheduled for July 10th at the same location, thanks to a new sponsor, PublicSq.
Poyer expressed gratitude for the widespread support received and highlighted PublicSq's commitment to sponsoring the entire tournament. Avalon Sports, Poyer's representatives, confirmed the rescheduled date and venue in an official statement, emphasizing the backing received from athletes, the public, businesses, and charities. They also promised to announce the participating athletes and celebrities soon.

Poyer originally canceled the tournament after several teams and a sponsor withdrew due to its association with the Trump National Doral. He explained in an Instagram video that the withdrawals were a direct result of pressure related to the venue's owner. ECMC, initially reported as a sponsor, clarified that they were a beneficiary of the event and respected Poyer's initial decision to cancel.

PublicSq's founder and CEO, Michael Seifert, expressed pride in partnering with Poyer and commended his stance against what he termed "cancel culture." The proceeds from the reinstated tournament will still benefit the ECMC Foundation, continuing their partnership with Poyer.

Poyer, a key player for the Buffalo Bills since 2017, recently signed a two-year extension with the team. His accomplishments include an All-Pro first team selection in 2021 and a Pro Bowl appearance in 2022.
