Kesha's Near-Death Experience and Road to Recovery

Singer Kesha recently opened up about a harrowing health scare that nearly claimed her life. In a candid interview with Self magazine, the 36-year-old "TiK ToK" artist revealed she "almost died" in January following complications from a fertility procedure. This serious medical event was exacerbated by Kesha's ongoing battle with Common Variable Immunodeficiency (CVID), a disorder weakening the immune system's ability to fight infections.

Kesha explained that she chose to freeze her eggs last year as a proactive measure to take control of her reproductive health. However, weeks after the procedure, she was hospitalized due to a rare complication, likely influenced by her compromised immune system. The recovery process was arduous, taking several months, and Kesha described the ordeal as "horrifying."

This health crisis follows Kesha's 2022 CVID diagnosis and her previous struggle with bulimia in 2014. These experiences have prompted a shift in her perspective, emphasizing self-compassion and a gentler approach to self-care. Kesha acknowledged her initial public persona of bravado, but admitted to being affected by negative commentary. She now actively practices positive self-talk and focuses on building a supportive internal dialogue.

While choosing to keep details private, Kesha briefly touched on her romantic life, confirming a relationship with an unnamed partner whom she described as "amazing." She explained her desire to keep this aspect of her life out of the public eye, emphasizing the diverse and personal nature of family structures. She playfully shared a minor detail about her boyfriend, mentioning his occasional need to stage "face cream interventions" to curb her enthusiasm for skincare products after an incident involving hives.
