Kyiv Courtroom Explosion Under Investigation, Potential Link to 2015 Parliament Attack

An explosion rocked a Kyiv courtroom on Wednesday, prompting a swift response from Ukrainian authorities. The Internal Affairs Ministry is investigating the incident, with early indications suggesting the blast might be linked to a man present for a hearing.

Law enforcement, including special forces, explosives experts, and canine units, are currently on-site, securing the area and gathering evidence. Interior Minister Ihor Klymenko urged the public to remain calm and avoid the scene while the investigation unfolds.

Local media reports indicate the suspect may be the same individual responsible for a 2015 grenade attack outside the Ukrainian parliament. The nature of the explosive device used in the courtroom incident and any potential connection to Russia remain unclear.

This incident follows Russia's recent accusations against Ukraine regarding an alleged drone attack on Moscow, a claim that also implicates the U.S. and NATO in providing support. The drone attack, involving five drones, resulted in minimal damage, with four drones shot down and one electronically diverted.
