Man with Extensive Criminal Record Arrested for Attempted Abduction of Teen at Pennsylvania Mall

A 44-year-old man, Khalilh Evans, with a lengthy criminal history, was apprehended on Thursday for the attempted abduction of a 14-year-old girl at the Willow Grove Park Mall in Pennsylvania. The incident occurred when the teenager was separated from her friends while shopping. Abington Police Chief Patrick Mallow expressed his concern, stating that Evans, with his 28-page rap sheet including weapons offenses, aggravated assault, and terroristic threats, "should not have been on the street." Following the incident, detectives swiftly identified Evans and issued a warrant for his arrest, charging him with the felony of false imprisonment of a minor. Evans was taken into custody with the help of the Philadelphia Police Department and the U.S. Marshal’s Office after he contacted his lawyer and agreed to surrender. He is currently detained at the Abington Police Department awaiting arraignment. Chief Mallow revealed that police received numerous tips suggesting Evans had approached other young women at the mall and possibly other locations. The investigation remains active as authorities are still seeking a second individual believed to have been involved in the incident. This disturbing crime, as described by Chief Mallow, sent chills down everyone's spine. The police department also released images of the two suspects and the black SUV they allegedly used to flee the scene.
