Law enforcement officers in Arkansas shot and wounded a parolee who fired at them during an attempted arrest at a Little Rock motel near the Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport on Monday morning. The Division of Community Correction officers were serving a warrant when the incident occurred. The parolee, whose identity has not been released, produced a handgun and shot at the officers, who then returned fire, striking him in the torso. He is currently receiving medical treatment at a local hospital, and his condition remains undisclosed. No officers were injured during the exchange. The Arkansas State Police are investigating the shooting. The individual is classified as a Level 3 sex offender and had outstanding warrants for theft of property, narcotics possession, and drug paraphernalia possession.
