Former President Donald Trump, accompanied by Vice President-elect JD Vance and other prominent individuals, attended the 125th Army-Navy football game at Northwest Stadium in Landover, Maryland. The group, which included House Speaker Mike Johnson, incoming Senate Majority Leader John Thune, Elon Musk, Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth, Tulsi Gabbard (Trump's pick for director of national intelligence), and Daniel Penny, watched the Navy secure a 31-13 victory over Army. Navy quarterback Blake Horvath led the team to victory with two passing touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns.

The presence of high-profile figures added another layer of interest to the already significant game. Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, a Navy veteran and potential alternative to Hegseth, was also spotted on the sidelines. Trump, who has a history of attending the Army-Navy game, saluted alongside service members during the national anthem. This marked his sixth attendance since 2016 and his first since 2020.

Both teams entered the game with impressive records, making it the first time since 2017 that the winner could secure the Commander-In-Chief’s Trophy. This year also marked the first time since 2017 that both teams had already secured bowl game spots before the rivalry matchup. Penny, recently acquitted of charges related to the death of Jordan Neely, attended the game as Vance's guest. Army's conference title win earlier this month added to the excitement surrounding the game.
