A complaint filed with the IRS by the pro-life organization 40 Days for Life alleges that Planned Parenthood's Florida chapter violated its tax-exempt status by offering office space to the Harris-Walz 2024 presidential campaign. The organization claims to possess evidence of potentially prohibited political activities impacting Planned Parenthood Florida's tax-exempt status.
40 Days for Life CEO Shawn Carney stated that their presence at numerous abortion facilities across the country allows them to witness firsthand potential violations committed by Planned Parenthood. He emphasized the alleged promotion of "Tim Walz Tuesdays" and the provision of space for Harris-Walz campaign events, actions he argues are prohibited for 501(c)(3) organizations. Fox News Digital contacted Planned Parenthood Florida for comment but received no response.

This isn't the first time 40 Days for Life has filed a complaint against Planned Parenthood. Last summer, they filed a complaint regarding Planned Parenthood's mobile abortion bus operating near the Democratic National Convention, where abortion was a key issue. Carney expressed hope that the Trump administration would investigate both alleged violations, highlighting their partisan nature and alleged bias towards the Democrats.

The 42-page IRS complaint also contends that Planned Parenthood's actions go beyond permissible lobbying, citing the provision of office space as a potential indicator of political endorsement or opposition. The complaint includes photos appearing to show campaign staff within the Planned Parenthood office in Sarasota, Florida.

The complaint argues that providing office space in a politically charged environment suggests endorsement or opposition of specific candidates, which is prohibited for tax-exempt organizations.
