Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell suffered a severe leg injury while scoring a touchdown against the Kansas City Chiefs on Saturday, December 21, 2024. The incident occurred early in the second half when Dell caught a 30-yard pass from quarterback C.J. Stroud.

Immediately after the catch, Dell went down and remained on the field in visible pain. It appeared he sustained the injury after colliding with teammate Jared Wayne and a Chiefs defender. Texans players surrounded Dell, offering support and prayers, while Stroud was visibly distressed by the injury.

Medical personnel placed a brace on Dell's left leg and transported him off the field on a stretcher and then via a covered medical cart. Reports indicate he was taken to a local hospital by ambulance for further evaluation. Post-game, Coach DeMeco Ryans confirmed the injury was "significant" and that Dell would remain hospitalized overnight. Subsequent reports suggest Dell dislocated his kneecap.
This is the second season-ending knee injury for Dell. His rookie season ended prematurely due to a fractured fibula suffered in a Week 13 game against the Denver Broncos last year.

Prior to Saturday's game, Dell had recorded 45 receptions for 569 yards and two touchdowns this season.
