Heisman Trophy recipient Travis Hunter and his fiancée, Leanna Lenee, have temporarily deactivated their Instagram accounts following a wave of online criticism. The scrutiny began after Hunter's Heisman win, with some questioning Lenee's initial reaction to his victory and a later video of her at a meet-and-greet. Lenee posted a TikTok video defending their relationship, which unfortunately only intensified the online negativity. Hunter subsequently defended his long-time girlfriend on his Twitch stream, expressing frustration with the sudden influx of judgment from people who hadn't previously been involved in their lives.

The couple's decision to step back from social media comes as Hunter prepares for what is likely his final college game, the Alamo Bowl against BYU. Despite being a projected high pick in the upcoming NFL Draft, Hunter has chosen to play in the bowl game, emphasizing his commitment to finishing the season with his coaches and teammates, including Coach Prime and Shedeur Sanders. Hunter's exceptional two-way abilities as both a wide receiver and cornerback are expected to place him among the top five draft picks next year.
