Triple Homicide Suspect Held Without Bond in Las Vegas Apartment Killings

A 30-year-old man, Spencer McDonald, is currently in custody without bond following a triple homicide in a west Las Vegas apartment complex. McDonald appeared in court Wednesday, remaining silent throughout the proceedings. It's presently unknown if he has legal representation.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department has charged McDonald with three counts of murder and one count of attempted murder. The incident unfolded Tuesday morning around 9 a.m. when officers responded to a call at the apartment complex. Upon arrival, they discovered a 50-year-old maintenance worker with non-life-threatening stab wounds to his head. The worker informed officers that he had been attacked by the suspect in the complex's courtyard, located behind the leasing office.

Police apprehended McDonald, who was reportedly armed with a weapon resembling a sledgehammer. While the motive remains unclear, authorities suggest two of the victims resided in an apartment within the complex and may have been acquainted with McDonald. According to reports, the complex's leasing office had requested two maintenance workers to conduct a welfare check on the apartment for reasons yet to be disclosed. Upon entering the apartment with their key, the suspect allegedly attacked them.

One maintenance worker managed to escape and contact 911. The other worker is believed to have been killed inside the apartment, where the bodies of a woman in her 80s and a man in his 40s were also discovered. Authorities suspect McDonald may have also resided in the same apartment. The Clark County authorities have not yet released the names of the deceased.
