Early Monday morning, a small boat erupted in flames near the Blynman Bridge in Massachusetts, prompting a swift response from the Gloucester Fire Department. Two individuals were found in the water and promptly rescued. They were transported to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that are not expected to be life-threatening.

The Gloucester Harbormaster, with assistance from the Coast Guard, towed the burning vessel to shore where firefighters extinguished the remaining flames. Authorities temporarily closed the Blynman Bridge during the incident, but it has since reopened. An investigation into the cause of the fire is currently underway. The names of the individuals involved have not been released.
