Public tours of the White House are set to recommence on February 25th, following a temporary suspension during the presidential transition. First Lady Melania Trump and President Donald Trump expressed their enthusiasm for the reopening in an official statement.
The First Lady highlighted the unique opportunity these tours offer, emphasizing the chance to learn about the presidency, the history of the nation, and the families who have resided in the White House. She expressed honor in continuing this tradition for the numerous visitors who come annually.
Those interested in touring the White House are required to submit requests through their respective Member of Congress, according to the National Park Service (NPS). The NPS recommends submitting requests between three months and 21 days in advance.
The self-guided tours typically last approximately 45 minutes and are offered from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday. These hours are subject to change depending on the White House's official schedule and are not available on federal holidays.
