The Maricopa County Sheriff's Office used surveillance footage from a Phoenix club where League and Ruinard met, along with footage from a nearby gas station, to track their movements. League's family played a crucial role in the investigation by alerting authorities to suspicious activity on his credit and debit cards after he went missing. Surveillance video revealed Ruinard using the cards at various businesses.

According to reports, League was last seen alive on surveillance footage at a gas station with Ruinard around 4:30 a.m. on June 11th. They left together in Ruinard's Dodge Challenger. Later, Ruinard was denied when he attempted to use League’s cards at a Walmart.

Ruinard now faces a string of serious charges, including first-degree murder, drug possession, credit card theft, fraudulent credit card use, weapons possession by a prohibited person, and concealing a body. He is currently held on a $2 million bond.
