Biden's Presidential Library Funding in Jeopardy After Controversial Pardon

Following President Biden's loss in the 2024 election to Donald Trump and the subsequent pardon of his son, Hunter, the Democratic party finds itself in turmoil. The pardon, seemingly concealed as a political strategy during the campaign, has sparked significant backlash.

This discontent has manifested in potential funding issues for Biden's future presidential library. Donors, disillusioned by the recent turn of events, are reportedly reconsidering their contributions. Political analyst Mark Halperin, speaking with Fox News' Jesse Watters, speculated that the library might end up being a more modest affair than initially envisioned, perhaps even resembling a "bookmobile" due to the lack of financial support.

Political analyst Mark Halperin argued Biden's hopes for a library may be dashed by lack of donor support.

Halperin pointed out that Biden's fundraising abilities have historically been weak and that the current donor frustration only exacerbates the situation. He also placed some blame on the donors and liberal media themselves, arguing that their silence during Biden's campaign, particularly regarding his son's legal troubles and the perceived manipulation of the primary process, contributed to the current predicament.

Halperin suggested that Democrats should reflect on their actions and consider what they could have done differently. He acknowledged their anger towards Biden but emphasized their role in enabling the situation. While he believes Biden will eventually secure some funding, the process will likely be challenging given his past fundraising record and the current climate of donor resentment.

Furthermore, Halperin contended that Biden's cognitive decline, evident since 2017, was largely ignored due to a combination of "Trump Derangement Syndrome" and a fear of being ostracized for any action that could potentially benefit Trump. He criticized the media's silence on the issue, calling it one of the biggest media scandals in American history, and extended the criticism to donors who, despite witnessing Biden's decline firsthand, remained silent.

How many more pardons will President Biden dole out?
