Former New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones has reportedly signed with the Minnesota Vikings, serving as backup to Sam Darnold and learning under Kevin O’Connell. The Vikings have emerged as playoff contenders with Darnold leading them to a 9-2 record, just behind the Detroit Lions in the NFC North. Jones’ time with the Giants concluded last week, with team co-owner John Mara announcing his release. Mara expressed disappointment but acknowledged the mutual decision, praising Jones' professionalism and contributions to the organization. After clearing waivers, Jones became a free agent. Drafted 6th overall in 2019, Jones battled injuries throughout his Giants tenure, but in his one fully healthy season, he led the team to the playoffs and a postseason win. Over 70 games, he amassed 14,582 passing yards and 70 touchdowns.
