Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts was forced to leave Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders after sustaining a concussion. The injury occurred in the first quarter when Hurts was tackled by Washington linebacker Frankie Luvu during a scramble. The impact caused Hurts' head to hit the ground.

After being evaluated on the sideline and in the medical tent, Hurts was taken to the locker room and officially ruled out with a concussion. Backup quarterback Kenny Pickett, acquired from the Pittsburgh Steelers in the offseason, stepped in for Hurts and finished the drive with a touchdown pass to A.J. Brown.

Before his exit, Hurts had only completed one pass for 11 yards but had managed 41 rushing yards. Despite leading 21-14 at halftime, the Eagles ultimately fell to the Commanders 36-33 in a close finish.
