Former "Squad" Members Bush and Bowman Launch Podcast After Primary Losses

Following their 2024 primary election defeats, former U.S. Representatives Cori Bush (D-MO) and Jamaal Bowman (D-NY), previously associated with the progressive "Squad," have unveiled a new podcast venture. Titled "Bowman and Bush," the monthly show will be hosted on Zeteo, the media platform of ex-MSNBC anchor Mehdi Hasan.

Bush announced the podcast on her Instagram, expressing enthusiasm for the project and promising "real talk, insider insights, and a look behind the curtain." The show aims to delve into congressional happenings and the impact of significant financial contributions in politics. Hasan echoed the announcement on X (formerly Twitter), highlighting the duo's intention to expose the inner workings of Congress and the influence of special interests.

The "Squad," initially formed in 2019 by four Democratic congresswomen, expanded to include Bush and Bowman after the 2020 elections. Both representatives faced significant opposition from pro-Israel groups during their 2024 primary campaigns, with organizations like AIPAC and UDP investing heavily against Bush. Bush is currently under investigation by the Department of Justice regarding her campaign's private security expenditures, and recent filings indicate continued payments to her husband, Cortney Merritts, for security services.
