California Representative Darrell Issa has nominated former President Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, marking another instance of a Republican lawmaker putting forth Trump's name for the prestigious award. Issa's announcement, made via a post on X (formerly Twitter), stated that "No one deserves it more."

In a statement to Fox News Digital, Issa elaborated on his reasoning, drawing a comparison to Ronald Reagan and highlighting Trump's emphasis on "peace through strength." He credited Trump's 2024 election victory, even before his inauguration, with fostering peace in various global regions. Issa expressed his hope that the Nobel Committee would acknowledge these contributions and recognize Trump as an ideal representative of the prize's values.
This nomination follows a similar move by Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-N.Y.), who nominated Trump for the same award in both 2024. Tenney initially cited Trump's role in the Abraham Accords, which normalized relations between Israel and several Arab nations. Later that year, she nominated Trump alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, emphasizing their efforts in combating terrorism and promoting stability in the region.
