Thanksgiving ER Visits for "Modern Family" Stars Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen

Over Thanksgiving, "Modern Family" alumni Jesse Tyler Ferguson and Julie Bowen both found themselves unexpectedly in the emergency room with their children. The actors, who played siblings Mitchell Pritchett and Claire Dunphy on the hit show, shared their experiences on social media.

Ferguson, 49, posted a photo of himself comforting his son on a hospital bed at Lenox Health Hospital in New York. He expressed gratitude for the hospital staff and noted the shared experience with Bowen, saying, "Seeing I wasn't the only one with a kid in the ER on Thanksgiving was comforting." He reassured followers that his son is now doing well. Ferguson shares two sons, Beckett and Sullivan, with his husband Justin Mikita.

Bowen also took to Instagram, sharing a picture of the exterior of an emergency room. She kept details brief, simply stating that her son was "fine" and that "It’s not a holiday without a trip to the ER." Bowen has three sons, Oliver, John, and Gustav, with her ex-husband Scott Phillips.

While neither actor revealed the reasons for their children's hospital visits, both posts indicated that the kids have since recovered. This Thanksgiving ER dash comes shortly after Ferguson shared the news of his mother's passing on social media, expressing gratitude for having been with her in her final moments.
