Juan Soto's Big Announcement: It's Not What You Think!

While baseball fans eagerly await Juan Soto's free agency decision, the 26-year-old superstar has made a different kind of headline-grabbing announcement. He's joined forces with energy drink company CELSIUS Live Fit.

Soto playfully teased the news on Instagram, mimicking the anticipation surrounding his impending free agency. In a video captioned "The announcement you've been waiting for," he stands before a cluster of microphones, building suspense before revealing a CELSIUS hat and proclaiming, "Team CELSIUS!" He then takes a celebratory sip of the beverage and jokingly asks, "What? You were expecting a different announcement?"

The post sparked a flurry of reactions from fans. Some expressed playful desperation, promising lifelong CELSIUS loyalty in exchange for Soto remaining in the Bronx. Others admitted to being momentarily fooled by the caption. Not everyone was amused, however, with one fan suggesting a move to the Mets.

In a formal statement, Soto, the first MLB player to partner with CELSIUS, expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the brand's alignment with his personal values and the product's contribution to his performance and wellness. He looks forward to inspiring others to "LIVE FIT" and achieve their goals.

Meanwhile, the baseball world continues to speculate about Soto's next move on the field. Five teams – the Yankees, Mets, Dodgers, Red Sox, and Blue Jays – have reportedly extended offers. Soto, who finished third in AL MVP voting during his 2024 season with the Yankees, is expected to make his decision around the time of the Winter Meetings in December.
