Several late-night comedians recently poked fun at Senator Chuck Schumer following his public pronouncements against President Donald Trump's policies. Jimmy Kimmel, Stephen Colbert, Seth Meyers, and Jon Stewart were among those who satirized the Democratic senator's remarks.
Kimmel reacted to a clip of Schumer from a rally, expressing a sense of doom and taking a jab at the age of political leaders. The rally, dubbed "Nobody Elected Elon," saw Schumer alongside Representative Maxine Waters and other Democrats. Schumer, holding Waters' hand, chanted slogans such as "we will win" and "we won't rest," a scene that drew laughter from CNN panelists and criticism from commentator Bakari Sellers, who expressed a preference for hearing from impacted individuals rather than established political figures.

Jon Stewart focused his humor on Schumer's response to Trump's proposed tariffs. Stewart ridiculed Schumer's focus on the impact on beer and avocados, questioning the effectiveness of such a response to complex trade issues. He further criticized the Democratic party for consistently putting Schumer forward as a counterpoint to Trump, suggesting that the senator is ill-equipped to handle the former president's media tactics.

Schumer's comment about people being "aroused" by Trump's funding freeze also became fodder for late-night jokes. Colbert impersonated Schumer, adding his own comedic spin to the senator's words. Meyers also joined in, expressing his discomfort with hearing Schumer use the term "aroused." Democratic strategist Chai Komanduri voiced broader concerns about the Democratic leadership's response to the Trump administration, citing Schumer's "aroused" comment and other instances as examples of ineffective communication.
