Dramatic bodycam footage reveals the heroic actions of a Michigan police officer who rescued a two-year-old boy from the brink of drowning. The incident unfolded during a pool party in Sterling Heights, near Detroit, on July 9th. The child's father noticed his son motionless at the bottom of the pool and immediately pulled him out, initiating CPR with the mother. After approximately a minute of CPR, the boy began gasping for air. Officer Nathan Sears arrived swiftly, responding to the emergency call. His bodycam captured him sprinting towards the backyard, guided by urgent calls from bystanders. The footage then shows Officer Sears administering back blows to the child, successfully clearing his airway. The toddler's cries could be heard amidst the background sirens as he was carried to the front of the property to meet with arriving paramedics. The Sterling Heights Fire Department provided immediate medical attention and transported the child to a hospital. Thankfully, the boy has made a full recovery and is back home.
