A New Year's Day terror attack in New Orleans has left a community reeling, with over a dozen fatalities and numerous injuries. The attacker, identified as Shamsud-Din Jabbar, drove a vehicle into pedestrians before opening fire. He was later killed by authorities.
Among the survivors is Jeremi Sensky, who spoke to NBC News from his hospital bed. Sensky, paralyzed since 1999, described the terrifying moment he was struck, his wheelchair destroyed by the impact. Scattered pieces of the chair lay around him as he recounted the ordeal. Despite suffering broken bones in both legs, Sensky expressed gratitude for his survival.
