Actress Shannen Doherty has provided a moving look into her recent health struggles, offering fans a glimpse of her experience leading up to a tumor removal from her head in January.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, the "Beverly Hills, 90210" alumna shared a video from January 16, documenting the moments before her surgery. Expressing her vulnerability, Doherty confessed to being "petrified" despite attempting to maintain bravery. She candidly described the overwhelming fear she felt, worried about the potential outcomes, the impact on her mother, and the possibility of losing a part of herself.
The video shows the 52-year-old actress lying in a hospital bed, engaging in conversation with medical personnel while wearing a hospital gown and hairnet. Her questions and demeanor reveal a mix of apprehension and determination.

Doherty's recent posts have chronicled various stages of her treatment. Earlier in the month, she shared videos of herself undergoing a CT scan and being fitted for a radiation mask, the latter bringing her to tears. In a poignant caption, she revealed that a CT scan on January 5 had detected metastases (mets) in her brain, leading to the commencement of radiation therapy on January 12.

Doherty's battle with cancer began in 2015 with a breast cancer diagnosis. Following a period of remission achieved through chemotherapy, radiation, and a mastectomy, her cancer returned in 2020, this time as stage 4.

Doherty's openness about her experiences offers a powerful testament to the emotional and physical toll of cancer. Her willingness to share her journey provides comfort and inspiration to others facing similar challenges.
