A visitor to Carowinds amusement park in North Carolina made a startling discovery on Friday – a visible crack in a support pillar of the Fury 325 roller coaster while the ride was in operation. Jeremy Wagner, who spotted the damage, promptly reported it to park officials, leading to the ride's immediate closure.
Carowinds, situated near Charlotte, confirmed the incident and stated that their maintenance team is conducting a thorough inspection of the Fury 325. The spokesperson emphasized that the ride will remain closed until all necessary repairs are completed and safety is ensured. Daily inspections are part of Carowinds' safety protocols for all rides, including Fury 325, to ensure proper functionality and structural integrity.

Billed as "the tallest, fastest, longest giga coaster in North America" on the park's website, Fury 325 boasts speeds reaching 95 mph and a towering height of 325 feet, culminating in a steep 81-degree drop.

A 911 call was also placed regarding the crack, according to CBS 17. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
