Golf influencer Paige Spiranac has entered the ongoing discussion surrounding AimPoint, a green-reading technique used by some professional golfers. She voiced her disapproval of the method, particularly after witnessing a player utilizing it just a foot away from the hole on the LPGA Tour.

Spiranac's stance aligns with those who believe AimPoint contributes to slow play, a contentious issue in professional golf. Rounds in tournaments like the Farmers Insurance Open have stretched to nearly six hours, fueling the debate.
PGA Tour player Lucas Glover recently weighed in on the matter, suggesting that while AimPoint's impact on pace of play isn't definitively proven, it can be time-consuming and doesn't necessarily improve putting performance. He also criticized the practice of walking near the hole to assess the break.

Conversely, some argue that wider adoption of AimPoint could actually expedite play, claiming it takes an average of 10 seconds to read a putt. Collin Morikawa, a proponent of AimPoint, responded to Glover's criticism by suggesting a ban on long putters, which Glover uses.

For now, the PGA Tour continues to permit AimPoint, but the discussion surrounding pace of play and its potential solutions remains a hot topic within the golfing community.
