The Houston Texans have endured several challenging seasons, but a wave of changes during this offseason, including new leadership and a fresh quarterback, has infused the team with renewed optimism. Offensive tackle Laremy Tunsil recently expressed his excitement about the team's direction.
Speaking on "The Pat McAfee Show," Tunsil described a palpable shift in atmosphere since DeMeco Ryans took the helm as head coach in January. "It's a whole new vibe, man," Tunsil remarked, crediting Ryans with revitalizing the team's energy after a difficult period. The addition of first-round draft pick C.J. Stroud has further amplified the positive sentiment.

The Texans made significant moves this offseason, drafting Stroud second overall and trading up to acquire linebacker Will Anderson Jr. with the third pick. Tunsil believes these additions, coupled with Ryans' leadership, have pulled the team out of a rut. He praised Ryans for bringing a new energy from San Francisco and changing the overall feeling within the organization.
Tunsil also spoke highly of Stroud's early performance, noting the rookie quarterback's impressive leadership qualities and work ethic. "He's a straight dawg," Tunsil stated, emphasizing Stroud's readiness to work and command of the huddle. He expressed admiration for Stroud's ability to handle himself professionally and perform on the field.

The Texans have struggled to find stability at the quarterback position in recent years, starting five different quarterbacks over the past three seasons. They hope Stroud will provide a long-term solution. While Stroud has yet to play a regular season snap, Tunsil's early endorsement suggests the rookie has the potential to make a significant impact.

After a disappointing 3-13-1 finish last season, the Texans are looking to rebound in 2023. Tunsil, a three-time Pro Bowler, will be a key anchor on the offensive line. The team opens its season on September 10th against the Baltimore Ravens.
