A Texas man is facing murder charges after authorities discovered the bodies of his wife and 11-year-old daughter concealed in the garage of their abandoned home. Robert Morairity, 45, is accused of killing Kimberly Kellam and their daughter and hiding their remains for an estimated five to six months.
The Wise County Sheriff's Office initiated an investigation in June after Kellam's brother-in-law reported he hadn't had contact with her or his niece for an extended period. Deputies found the family's Decatur home abandoned, and the school confirmed the daughter hadn't been enrolled since 2022.

The subsequent investigation led authorities to Morairity, who was residing in a Dallas hotel with his two younger children. Initially, he claimed ignorance about his wife and daughter's whereabouts. However, he later confessed that they were deceased and hidden in his garage.
Wise County Sheriff Lane Akin expressed frustration that authorities weren't notified sooner, suggesting family members were intimidated by Morairity. The sheriff revealed the bodies were concealed but not difficult to locate. While the exact motive and cause of death remain under investigation, the sheriff confirmed Morairity's involvement in their deaths. The timeline indicates the killings likely occurred around November 2022.
At the time of the alleged murders, Morairity was on probation after pleading guilty in 2019 to two counts of child endangerment. His probation concluded in March 2023. He now faces charges of murder, capital murder of a person under 15, and tampering with evidence. Morairity is currently held in the Wise County jail on an $800,000 bond.
