The View's Joy Behar Attributes Missing Submersible Incident to Human Error

During a recent episode of "The View," co-host Joy Behar linked the disappearance of the Titanic tourist submersible to human error, drawing a parallel with the 1912 sinking of the Titanic itself. She expressed her belief that both tragedies stemmed from "human incompetence and stupidity." Her co-host, Whoopi Goldberg, offered prayers for the families involved and those engaged in the search efforts. Behar further described the situation as "terrible," emphasizing the distressing thought of being confined within the small submersible.

Co-host Sunny Hostin expressed a glimmer of hope, referencing reported banging sounds detected at intervals, speculating that they might be a coded message. Alyssa Farah Griffin also noted the similarities between the submersible incident and the original Titanic disaster, highlighting the vastness and mystery of the deep ocean, and how even great wealth cannot overcome the power of nature. She pointed out that more individuals have ventured into space than have explored the ocean's depths.

The OceanGate Titan submarine went missing on Sunday, prompting a large-scale search and rescue operation. As of Tuesday afternoon, the U.S. Coast Guard estimated approximately 40 to 41 hours of oxygen remaining on board. Three additional vessels joined the search on Wednesday, equipped with advanced tools to scan the ocean floor. The Coast Guard also reported that a Canadian aircraft detected underwater noises in the search zone.
