Trans Activist Arrested After Calling for Violence Against 'TERFs' at London Rally

Sarah Jane Baker, a transgender activist and self-proclaimed "world's longest-serving transgender prisoner," was arrested in London on suspicion of inciting violence following remarks made at the Trans+ Pride rally. Baker, 53, gained notoriety for advocating for transgender women's placement in women's prisons and has a history of violent crime, including attempted murder and kidnapping.

During the rally, Baker delivered a speech containing inflammatory language, urging attendees to physically assault "TERFs" (trans-exclusionary radical feminists). While holding an "Antifascist Action" flag, she stated, "If you see a TERF, punch them in the f---ing face." This incitement to violence prompted a swift response from Metropolitan Police, leading to Baker's arrest.

Trans+ Pride organizers distanced themselves from Baker's statements, clarifying that she was not a scheduled speaker but rather participated during an open-mic segment. In a statement released on Instagram, the organization condemned violence while upholding the right to free speech. They emphasized their commitment to peaceful demonstrations.

Metropolitan Police confirmed the arrest, stating that the investigation stemmed from a video circulating on social media. While in custody, Baker asserted, "Trans rights are human rights. One struggle, one fight… They won't get rid of us, our existence is our resistance." Charges have yet to be filed.
