Former President Donald Trump welcomed Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni to his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida on Saturday. The occasion was a screening of a documentary exploring the perceived difficulties faced by conservative lawyers within the legal system.
Trump made an appearance in the grand ballroom around 7 p.m., returning after a two-hour dinner.

Introducing Meloni to the assembled guests, Trump expressed his enthusiasm, describing her as a "fantastic woman" who has "taken Europe by storm." He noted they were having dinner together that evening.
Among the notable attendees at the documentary screening were several individuals Trump has tapped for positions in his prospective administration: Florida Senator Marco Rubio as Secretary of State, Florida Representative Mike Waltz as National Security Advisor, and Scott Bessent as Treasury Secretary.

Meloni's visit follows a series of meetings between Trump and other international leaders at Mar-a-Lago since his November election victory. Argentinian President Javier Milei was the first to meet with Trump, followed by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán.

President Biden is scheduled to meet with Meloni and Pope Francis in Rome later this week. The White House stated that Biden's meeting with Meloni will underscore the strong U.S.-Italy relationship and offer an opportunity to thank her for her leadership of the G7.
