DJ Akademiks is facing intense criticism following allegations of inappropriate behavior during a Twitch livestream with 15-year-old streamer NourGxd.
The controversy began when Akademiks made explicit remarks, asking, “Yo, Nour, what's your address? I'm going to send some strippers over there,” and, “If Max said he wanted to try f*ck you?” These comments led to widespread condemnation on social media.
In response to the backlash, Akademiks claimed that Kendrick Lamar fans were the only ones angry at him. His deflection drew sharp criticism online, with one user stating, “Blame YOURSELF! No one, NOT A SOUL told you to speak like that with a 15-year-old boy." Others echoed similar sentiments, calling his actions indefensible.
The allegations stemmed from a January 23, 2025, Fortnite stream where NourGxd expressed discomfort during Akademiks’ remarks, clarifying that he wasn’t gay. Despite this, Akademiks continued with inappropriate comments, prompting Twitch moderator PlaqueBoyMax to publicly denounce the podcaster's actions, describing the situation as "nasty."
In a later livestream, Akademiks defended himself, claiming his comments were misunderstood and emphasizing his past emotional and financial support for NourGxd. However, he also accused PlaqueBoyMax of not doing enough to assist the young streamer.
Twitch streamer NourGxd shared his perspective in an interview with Scru Face Jean, describing Akademiks’ remarks as “disgusting” and “truly uncomfortable.” The interviewer expressed hesitance to release the full conversation, suggesting the matter may require legal involvement.
The backlash against Akademiks continues to grow, with critics denouncing both his comments and his attempt to deflect blame onto Kendrick Lamar fans. As the controversy unfolds, the podcaster faces mounting pressure to take accountability for his actions.
