One of the individuals accusing Kevin Spacey of sexual misconduct has reaffirmed his allegations of aggressive groping and verbal abuse by the actor. This comes after Spacey's defense lawyer challenged the accuser's testimony in a London court, labeling parts of it as "completely untrue." The accuser, who cannot be named for legal reasons, testified that Spacey subjected him to a barrage of sexually and racially charged verbal abuse before grabbing his crotch forcefully backstage at London's Old Vic Theatre in the early 2000s. He described the alleged assault as aggressive and angry, likening it to a cobra attack rather than a caress. Despite the defense's attempts to discredit his account, the accuser stood firm, stating, "It was horrific. And I have never had anyone speak to me in that way, ever." He denied any motivation for financial gain and expressed the feelings of degradation and worthlessness caused by the incident. The accuser explained his delayed reporting of the incident by citing Spacey's prominent status in the theater world and fear of repercussions. He shared his experience with a friend shortly after the alleged incident but did not report it to authorities until five years ago. He described the emotional toll of the experience, saying he had suppressed the memory for a long time. Spacey, who served as the Old Vic's artistic director during the period of the alleged offenses, has pleaded not guilty to multiple charges, including sexual assault and indecent assault. Two other accusers have made similar allegations of crotch-grabbing, and a fourth accuser is expected to testify in the coming week. Prosecutors have characterized Spacey as a "sexual bully" who disregards personal boundaries and derives pleasure from making others uncomfortable. Spacey's defense argues that he denies all allegations of non-consensual acts and encourages jurors to question the accusers' motivations. The defense also suggested that Spacey's public coming out as gay in 2020 may have made him a target for opportunists. These allegations follow earlier accusations of sexual misconduct against Spacey, including a 2017 claim by actor Anthony Rapp, who accused Spacey of assaulting him at a party in the 1980s. Spacey was found not liable in Rapp's civil case.
