Actor Brian J. White Aids Neighbors in Detaining Suspect Near LA Evacuation Zone

"Chicago Fire" actor Brian J. White found himself involved in a real-life emergency situation when he and his neighbors apprehended a man suspected of attempting to start a fire near their Los Angeles homes. The incident occurred on Thursday, as White and his community prepared to evacuate due to the nearby Kenneth Fire.

Hearing a commotion outside, White initially feared a neighbor was in danger. However, he discovered a man, later identified by ICE sources as Juan Manuel Sierra-Leyva, an illegal immigrant from Mexico, allegedly wielding a blowtorch on private property. According to reports, Sierra-Leyva had been attempting to ignite debris in White's trash can.

White and two other neighbors questioned the man, who reportedly gave inconsistent explanations for his presence. When Sierra-Leyva allegedly became aggressive, the residents, having already contacted the police, decided to perform a citizen's arrest. Using zip ties and rope from their garages, they restrained the suspect until law enforcement arrived.

While LAPD arrested Sierra-Leyva for a felony probation violation, there wasn't sufficient evidence for an arson charge. White credits his past training for on-screen roles involving law enforcement, which he says helped him remain composed during the tense situation. He emphasized the importance of clear communication and staying calm under pressure.
