Over sixty former attorneys general from both Democratic and Republican parties have united to endorse Pam Bondi for the position of Attorney General. In a letter addressed to Senate leaders, they emphasized Bondi's extensive prosecutorial background, highlighting her eight years of service as Florida's top prosecutor as a key qualification for the role. The letter, shared exclusively with Fox News Digital, notably includes signatures from over twenty Democratic attorneys general or those appointed by Democratic governors.
The bipartisan group commended Bondi's collaborative work across party and state lines during her tenure as Florida's attorney general and her 18-year service as a state prosecutor in Hillsborough County. They expressed confidence in her suitability for the position, stating, "Many of us have worked directly with Attorney General Bondi and can attest to her qualifications. Her significant prosecutorial experience and dedication to public service make her an exceptionally qualified nominee."

The letter also highlighted Bondi's steadfast commitment to public safety and upholding the law during her time in Florida. Her efforts focused on tackling violent crime, consumer protection, and combating the opioid crisis, a significant issue during her election as attorney general in 2010. The former attorneys general affirmed their belief that Bondi remains a respected figure within their community and expressed confidence in her ability to serve with distinction as United States Attorney General.

This endorsement follows a similar letter from over one hundred former Justice Department officials urging Bondi's confirmation. While she is expected to be confirmed by the Republican-controlled Senate, her nomination faces some opposition. Senator Dick Durbin, the top Democrat on the Senate Judiciary Committee, voiced concerns about Bondi's impartiality, particularly regarding her defense of President-elect Donald Trump during impeachment proceedings and after the 2020 election. Durbin emphasized the importance of an independent Justice Department free from political influence and questioned Bondi's ability to prioritize her constitutional oath over her loyalty to Trump.
