Former reality TV star Collin Gosselin, along with his sister Hannah, recently shed light on their complicated relationship with their mother, Kate Gosselin, in the Vice docuseries "Dark Side of the 2000s." Collin suggests that following her 2009 divorce from Jon Gosselin, Kate needed an outlet for her frustrations, and he believes he became that target.
Hannah recounted instances where Collin was isolated from the other siblings, having meals separately and being excluded from playtime. Collin maintains that his behavior was no different from his siblings', but Hannah feels that sufficient guidance regarding acceptable behavior wasn't provided at home.
While acknowledging his mother's struggles with the divorce, Collin believes he bore the brunt of her emotional turmoil. He stated, "I want to think that she needed someone to take out her anger and frustration on, and it was just kind of me."
At age 12, Collin was placed in an institution by Kate, who cited his "special needs." However, both Collin and Jon deny the existence of any special needs, and Jon eventually gained custody of Collin. Collin, now 19, is pursuing a career in the Marine Corps.
