Faith Guides Family of New Orleans Terror Attack Victim

Following the tragic New Orleans terror attack, the family of Martin "Tiger" Bech, a former Princeton University football standout, finds strength in their faith. Tiger, 27, was among the 14 victims when a truck plowed into crowds on New Year's Day.

In an interview with Fox News, Tiger's aunt, Cheri Bech, shared the family's remarkable resilience in the face of such a devastating loss. "God is so present," she stated, emphasizing the pivotal role of faith in their grieving process. Cheri revealed that Tiger's mother sensed he was saying goodbye in the weeks leading up to the tragedy, a detail that sent chills down the interviewer's spine.

Cheri recounted a touching moment on New Year's night when her daughter, after learning of Tiger's death, expressed forgiveness for the perpetrator. This act of forgiveness, she explained, stems from their deep faith in Jesus. "It's through our faith in Jesus that we're able to forgive such a heinous act of crime against just innocent people," Cheri affirmed.

Tiger was remembered as a devoted son, brother, and cousin. Cheri highlighted his unwavering support for his younger brother, Jack, who is preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft. Tiger consistently made the effort to attend Jack's football games, demonstrating his commitment to family. Jack acknowledged his brother's enduring presence, stating, "Love you always brother! You inspired me everyday now you get to be with me in every moment. I got this family T, don’t worry. This is for us."

Cheri shared a comforting verse from Isaiah 41:10 that has sustained her family during this challenging time: "Do not be afraid, for I am with you. Do not be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my victorious right hand." She extended prayers and support to the families of the other victims, emphasizing the importance of unity and strength in the face of tragedy.
