Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi underwent a successful hip replacement surgery on Saturday following a fall earlier in the week while in Luxembourg for Battle of the Bulge commemorations. Pelosi's spokesperson, Ian Krager, confirmed the procedure and expressed her gratitude to the medical teams at both Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany and Hospital Kirchberg in Luxembourg. Pelosi, 84, reportedly tripped after a group photo with fellow lawmakers and officials. The incident occurred during a bipartisan congressional delegation visit to Luxembourg to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. Krager initially reported Pelosi's injury on Friday, stating she had been admitted to the hospital for evaluation. He has since confirmed the successful surgery and noted that Pelosi is recovering well and anticipates returning to the United States soon. The U.S. Embassy in Luxembourg acknowledged Pelosi's presence in the country with a post on X (formerly Twitter) on Friday, highlighting the delegation's participation in the Battle of the Bulge anniversary events.
