Following a season-ending elbow surgery, Georgia quarterback Carson Beck has announced his intention to enter the 2025 NFL Draft. Beck shared the news on social media just days after the procedure, concluding his collegiate career with the Bulldogs.
Beck expressed gratitude for his time at the University of Georgia, calling it a "dream come true." He thanked the fans and supporters who have been with him throughout his journey. His Instagram post concluded with a resounding "Go Dawgs!" as he embarks on this next chapter.
The injury occurred during the SEC Championship game against Texas earlier this month. Beck underwent surgery to repair the ulnar collateral ligament in his throwing arm and is anticipated to resume throwing activities in the spring.
Despite having eligibility remaining, Beck chose to declare for the draft after two seasons as Georgia's starting quarterback, boasting a 24-3 record. He acknowledged the impact football has had on his life, shaping him into the person he is today, and expressed appreciation for his family's unwavering support.
With Beck sidelined, backup quarterback Gunner Stockton has stepped up to lead the Bulldogs. Georgia will face Notre Dame in the CFP quarterfinals at the Sugar Bowl.
