Shoshone County, Idaho prosecutors have decided not to pursue the death penalty against Majorjon Kaylor, 31, who is accused of fatally shooting four members of his neighboring family on Father's Day. Kaylor faces four counts of first-degree murder and a burglary charge. He allegedly told police he "snapped" after an ongoing dispute with the family next door.
The conflict reportedly began two weeks prior to the shootings when 18-year-old Devin Smith, one of the victims, allegedly exposed himself to Kaylor's wife and daughters. Kaylor reportedly considered Smith a "pedophile" and voiced concerns to the Guardipee family, Smith's relatives, but felt they weren't taking the situation seriously.

The victims include Kenna Guardipee, 41, and her father, Kenneth Guardipee, 65, who were found dead on their back porch with gunshot wounds to the head. Smith was discovered dead in a bedroom, also with gunshot wounds to the head. A 16-year-old boy, whose name has been withheld, was found dead between the kitchen and living room with a similar injury.

According to court documents, Kaylor and his wife, Kaylie, discussed their concerns and even shared a picture of Gary Plauche, who shot the man accused of kidnapping and molesting his son in 1984. On Father's Day, an argument escalated between the two families, culminating in the shootings.

While the state will not seek the death penalty, Kaylor could still receive life imprisonment without parole if found guilty. He is currently held without bond and is scheduled for another court appearance on July 3. A GoFundMe page has been established to assist the Guardipee family with funeral expenses.
