Miami Heat star Jimmy Butler's turbulent season has taken another turn. ESPN reports that the Heat are suspending Butler for two games due to his absence from a team flight to Milwaukee for their Thursday night matchup against the Bucks. While Butler reportedly planned to travel to Milwaukee separately, the Heat's suspension will cover both the Bucks game and the subsequent game against the Brooklyn Nets on Saturday.

This marks Butler's second suspension of the season, adding to the drama surrounding his recent trade request. Earlier this season, he served a seven-game suspension for conduct detrimental to the team. Despite the ongoing issues, Butler remains on the Heat roster and continues to play.
Following a recent loss to the Denver Nuggets, Butler addressed the swirling rumors, stating that the "whole truth" regarding his trade request would eventually surface. He also expressed frustration with media speculation about strained relationships with teammates and the front office, suggesting that much of the reporting was fabricated. He dismissed the rumors, stating he doesn't pay attention to them and encouraged the speculation to continue.

Adding fuel to the fire, Butler was seen wearing Phoenix Suns-themed sneakers, leading many to believe he's signaling his preferred trade destination. This coincided with the Suns acquiring three future first-round draft picks from the Utah Jazz, further fueling speculation about a potential trade. The Suns, currently holding a 21-21 record, are seen as a team that could benefit from adding a star player like Butler.

While Heat president Pat Riley initially stated the team would not trade Butler, their stance has reportedly softened following Butler’s seven-game suspension. The Heat are now reportedly open to considering trade offers.
